RE: I81 in WV area- Place to overnight?

I stayed there earlier this week. WOW, I might have passed you on the interstate, as I drive a school bus and I'm on 81 quite a bit. Next time ya pass thru this way when you get to exit 8, toss a wave to the west, as I live about 5 miles from there. I sure wish I was out rv'ing instead of working, oh well hopefully only :( 8 more years to go.

RE: I81 in WV area- Place to overnight?

In WV at the 23 milemarker, there is Falling Water Campsites, if you want hookups, a clean, no frills place with pullthrus. The Martinsburg WalMart IS posted no overnight parking(because this WalMart does not own the land the store is on), but folks still stay there. Also, right adjacent to the walmart is a large parking area where Buffalo Wild Wings & Outback are and it is not posted. There is also a Cracker Barrel there. Best access for any of these is to use exit 13. Going south, crossing into VA at the 323 milemarker is a Flying J

RE: tandem vs single axles

You "thought" you had built in sway control. Maybe if you can provide more info about your hitch setup you might get some more responses. I towed a 16' Sunline with a 1999 4dr. GMC Jimmy for years using a single friction sway bar and it was solid as a rock.

RE: Stepping into the RV

I'm not sure if what I use would work for you, but thought I'd suggest them. I purchased a set of "spa/hot tub" steps, they are lightweight, wide and are much better that the original single step that is on my Sunline. They weigh about 18 lbs, and I just slide them inside the door when I'm ready to travel. I purchased from my local pool/spa earler, BUT I have seen them on E-Bay. I paid 85 bux for mine. They also come in 3 or 4 colors. Here is a link to a set currently on E-bay: Spa steps

RE: Anybody lower torsion axles to gain height?

My Sunline is now home with the 3" lift completed, I love it, I didn't drag once in my driveway like I normally do, but the actual axles are still low to the ground, but I never had them drag. Here are a couple of pics: http://inlinethumb05.webshots.com/21316/2361546540044476533S500x500Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb63.webshots.com/30398/2147660540044476533S500x500Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb41.webshots.com/41576/2303263340044476533S500x500Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb38.webshots.com/43429/2065447260044476533S500x500Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb32.webshots.com/43295/2055979200044476533S500x500Q85.jpg

RE: Atwood Water Heater Anode Rods

From the Atwood Water Heater website: Aluminum clad tank—Less weight and the cladding eliminates the need for an anode rod.

RE: Camping with a dog . . . is it hard to do

If my grey "KD" is not welcome, then I don't stay there. I've been in some places where I'd rather deal with the well behaved pets than the kids with no manners running wild. I'd rather be with mis-behaved pets than deal with the kids with no manners running wild. :B I was going to say that, but didn't want to ruffle any fur amongst members. Not ALL pets are unruly and not all kids are unruly, but just one can make for a bad experiece.

EPDM Rubber Roof Care

Not wanting to and hoping to NOT start a "Roof Care Maintenance" war, I saw this info and thought it might be helpful to some. I don't have any opinion about it since I have an aluminum roof. The truth about EPDM Rubber Roofs

RE: Pet a Paws

HERE is a link that will show you great information about using a "dremel" tool for filing your pets toenails. I have started to use a dremel on KD(my grey) and she could care less, now on moms weiner dog, well, that's gonna take some time for him to get used to it. I prefer using the dremel and no chance of cutting too short and no ruff edges.

RE: Ouch!!!!

When my truck was 2 weeks old, I got side-swiped by a hit n run driver. She had been going too fast entering an "S" curve, it was not a blind curve so I was able to see her starting to fishtail/swerve out of control, I pulled off the road as far as possible BUT, she still hit me. She caught my LF tire, rim, trim ring and running board and a quarter size chip in the front bumper, repair bill was $2019.06 She did stop, for a MOMENT, I got the tag number, but they never cuaght her. Repairing these things is pricey, but thankfully, I got a tag number so I was covered under no-fault.

RE: RIP Teton Homes :-(

I feel sorry for the workers, since the job market isn't great for getting another new job. It appears to be a sign of the times, the better built higher priced companies just can't compete with the mass produced cheaper units. Makes me wonder how ALL these unemployed workers are going to find decent paying jobs with so many places closing their doors.

RE: How long are you going to keep your current travel trailer?

I feel that my custom ordered Sunline is here to stay. It meets all my requirements, is a high quality trailer and has enuff room for me to spend lots of time in. IF/when it goes, it will probably be because I'm done rv'ing.
